Ananda Shankar's self-titled 1970 debut is one of the most daring records to come out of India — Ravi Shankar's nephew took the sitar and ran it headlong into psychedelic rock, fuzz guitar, and Moog synthesizer. The Indian pressing of this Reprise/Warner Bros release is genuinely scarce, and tracks like his electric reimagining of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" still sound like nothing else on earth.
