About This Record
Ilana Vered was one of the most gifted pianists of the 1970s, and this Decca Phase 4 Stereo recording of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the London Philharmonic is a masterclass in both performance and engineering. Phase 4 was Decca's premium audiophile series, using a pioneering 20-channel mixing process that gave recordings an almost three-dimensional presence.
